A tour though the fort, built in 1077 by Archbishop Erzbischof Gerhard is highly recommended.  It is also the biggest complete standing castle in Central Europe.

The Mönchberg lift will take you to your wonder through the city through the world famous Getreidegasse.  Here, visit Mozart’s birth place and see the monuments of arguably Salzburg’s most famous son at Mozartplatz.  Your walk through the old town will lead you further to Salzburg Cathedral which is the most important sacred building and among the most striking in the city.

Continuing on your journey through the city centre, you pass many special places such as the Residence, St. Peter’s Abbey with its impressive cemetery, Franziskaner church, the university church, Schloss Mirabell and the festival area with the large and small festival theatres as well as the riding school.

You can easily explore the sights in Salzburg with the “hop on hop off” city tour.  The bus stops at all of the important attractions and you can get on or off at any point.

Take the limousine to visit Schloss Hellbrunn (Hellbrunn Castle), wonder through its extensive park, visit Hellbrunn zoo and experience the unique water fountains.
